This Mica powder is ideal for coloring Melt and Pour Soaps and Candles, nails and Cosmetics, even body powder.
The color effect in soap is relative to the amount you use, 1 teaspoon will color up to 10kg, for a strong color 2kg so 50gm will go a long way, this will also vary with white soap base or translucent which will need less.
When used in Melt and Pour Soap - it produces a metalic effect in a clear base / Translucent, and a pastel pearl shades in white bases.
Mica powders may have a shimmer effect similar to glitter.
Most micas will work in cold process soap - but some will not. Their colors are sometimes unstable in the high ph of raw cold processed soap. Experiment first.
To test mica in cold process soap we suggest you add some of the colour to 1 Tbsp. of a light carrier oil, like sweet almond oil, and mix together thoroughly. Then, add 1 tsp. of the dispersed colour until you get your desired colour.
For melt and pour, you can add the color directly and stir well. If your soap is too hot the mica may sink to the bottom, so there is a happy medium as to when to pour
